The Park Board met on Thursday, April 10, 2025.

Park Programs Planned This Summer

  • Music in Mason - 7 shows on the downtown plaza starting Friday June 6. Bands, food trucks, American Legion, food trucks, local businesses

  • Market on the Mile - partnership with the MADE Chamber and CDC. 

  • Red Rhythm and Boom on July 3

  • East Main Music Fest - October 11. Musicians scattered around East Main, “block party” style event

Sporting Events Scheduled in Mason This Summer

  • Ten 5ks on the calendar so far (7 are returning, 3 are new). Routes through the parks don’t require closing streets and use less city resources

  • 4 baseball tournaments

  • 5 swim meets at the aquatic center, 3 are manta rays-hosted and 2 are rentals; rec league hosts 2 meets at the competition pool

  • Youth baseball booked one group a day at all fields!

New Centerpointe comes out in early May for June - August. 

Upcoming events include:
Underwater Easter egg hunt at the leisure pool. 51 enrolled. Some floating and some sinking eggs.

Free community swim clinic - focus on freestyle. Not for non-swimmers, for those who want to improve.

April 26 - DARE program party for kids graduating from the program 6:30-9pm (after they close)

Shop Local - April 30. Home-based businesses line Main Street in community center

Park Ordinance Review

Legal team will simplify by eliminating park rules already covered by other city ordinances

Legal team will also rewrite them into more friendly language

At park kiosks, will post some basic info.
